Event Timeline
This is a brief outline of the event schedule for X-Day 2004.
Contact us at any time to volunteer for
the X-Day staff, or make suggestions to improve X-Day, or share questions and
concerns.
2004 April - December: Promotions
During the months leading up to X-Day 2004 you can:
- Promote X-Day 2004 in your discussion forums, email lists, bulletin
boards, and web sites.
- Link to Us.
- Read the X-Day 2004 Rules.
- Gather and complete your creative works, get ready to submit them.
- Scan or photograph any non-electronic creations into the computer.
- Obtain your own space on a web server for your creations, if you don't
already have it. Display your creations there. Make sure that each creative
submission has its own HTML page to display it on.
- Contact Us if you want to be sent a
reminder message when X-Day 2004 registration begins.
2005 January 1-21: Submissions
During the 3 week Submissions Period of January 1-21, you can:
- Register as an X-Day 2004 participant
and edit your public profile.
- Submit your created works for the X-Day
showcase. You may enter new submissions only until the Submissions period
ends.
- Make sure the submitted information for your creations is correct,
and make sure that the hyperlinks that go to them are not broken.
- If any X-Day staff member sends you a message about your submission, such
as to make a correction, then respond to it.
- Choose which of your submissions should be in the competition, if any.
- View submissions of other X-Day
participants and optionally leave them text feedback.
2005 January 22-24: Cleanup
During the 3 day Cleanup Period of January 22-24, you can:
- Register as an X-Day 2004 participant
and edit your public profile.
- Make sure any details or links for your existing submissions are correct,
including that they are in the correct categories. You can make changes only
until the Cleanup period ends.
- Respond to any X-Day staff messages.
- Finish choosing which of your submissions will compete, if any.
- View or leave feedback on submissions of other X-Day participants.
2005 January 25-31: Voting
During the 1 week Voting Period of January 25-31, you can:
- Register as an X-Day 2004 participant
and edit your public profile.
- View all submissions in the X-Day showcase.
- Leave text feedback on all submissions in the X-Day showcase.
- Vote for your favorite competing
submissions in the X-Day competition.
- You may change any of your votes or feedback until the voting period ends.
2005 February: Results
Starting on the first week of February, you can:
- View all submissions in the X-Day showcase.
- View the text feedback on all submissions left and signed by all the
participants.
- View the voting results and the winners of the competition.
- Fill out a public survey on your experiences with X-Day 2004, that will
help us when planning X-Day 2005 to make it the best possible.
