General Comments and Greetings: Wow it took me ages to find this site again, the last time I used it was back in 2000 now 8 years ago. I've been reunited with my comic collection and needed your excellent reference/timeline site.
Your birth year: 1970
Where are you from: England = Cornwall
Your Web Site url: (no answer)
Do you publish Fan Fiction or issue indexes on the www?: nope
How you found me: with great difficulty! searched for Marvel index databases
What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: This site is unique and very easy to navigate around. I would love to see it updated tho.
Favorite characters: Got to be Wolverine I named my son Logan ;) cause he's a survivor born only 1lb 11oz! ooh and Gambit.
Favorite creators and/or titles: UXM, XM, WOL, GAM
Favorite stories or plots: (no answer)
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): g)1998-2000
How important is accurate continuity?: very important
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Shadow Cat and Colossus! Changing Shadow Cats age making their previous relationship pretty sick! ie Kitty way under 16 (12 I think *scratches head*) and Peter way over 16. Now that was just so wrong! How did I compensate for that, hmm difficult it still bugs me to this day!
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Only a select few not EVERY dead character!
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: As much as is possible in movie terms.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Be rich! *cheeky grin*

General Comments and Greetings: Very nice, comprehensive site. Not only does this bring back memories, but its a resource I plan on referencing for some fanfic I want to do in the near future.
Your birth year: 1970
Where are you from: Oregon
Your Web Site url: http://www.geocities.com/mjackso630
Do you publish Fan Fiction or issue indexes on the www?: Some
How you found me: Google
What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: It's very thorough; can't think of much I'd add or change.
Favorite characters: Illyana and Peter Rasputin, Kitty Pryde.
Favorite creators and/or titles: Chris Claremont/ '80's era X-Men, New Mutants, Magick Limited Series, Wolverine Limited Series, Kitty Pryde and Wolverine Limited Series.
Favorite stories or plots: Pretty much anything BEFORE the Inferno arc. I hated Inferno and it seemed like everything that came after was just a downhill slide.
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): 1983-1986 and 1987-1990.
How important is accurate continuity?: Pretty Important
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Who could tell? They've retconned everything so many times to cover their own asses that I think most of the glaring continuity errors have been glossed over.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Maybe, Case by case
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: More than it has been
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: First, I'd pull off a couple of really cool (and believable) retcons to bring both Kitty and Illyana back into play. After that, I'd try very hard to shift the focus away from the huge, Marvel-wide super-plots (that seem to be all the rage these days) back to smaller, more subtle, more dramatically oriented plot lines. I've seen enough of the gigantic, cosmically-powered slug-fests and the X-Files-ey conspiracy theory plots for a while, thank you.

General Comments and Greetings: Cool site, I have been working on my own chronology, from Giant Size #1 to the Age of Apoc. I was trying to go from AOC to Onslaught when I discovered your site. It has been a useful resource. (You have a lot more titles in yours than I ever have attempted to collect, kudos!)
Your birth year: 1980
Where are you from: Phoenix
Your Web Site url: none
Do you publish Fan Fiction or issue indexes on the www?: no
How you found me: Search Engine led me to your site
What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: I'd like to see the timeline move forward to the present
Favorite characters: Gambit & Rogue I also like Multiple Man, Jubilee, Mirage, Phoenix(Rachel)Psylocke, Deadpool
Favorite creators and/or titles: Writer: Alan Moore, Artist: John Romita Jr.
Favorite stories or plots: Anything involving Genosha up until Bloodties. Clairmont really got me hooked on those stories. Also I liked the old Capt. Britain stories that Alan Moore did.
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): My favorites were around 1990-1995. I got tired of Xavier not being around (prior to Muir Isle Saga), and then beyond 1995 things got really complicated.
How important is accurate continuity?: Understanding continuity increases my enjoyment of the genre
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Excalibur 20 and 26 were completely out of order. I place them after issue #3. In issue #4 Moira is abducted into another dimension. She does not return until EXC #11, but in that issue all of Excalibur disappear. The only way that they can all appear together at the end of EXC #26 is if 26 takes place prior to Moira's abduction, or after the entire team reunties after the Cross-Time Caper. (The reunification does not take place until Kitty's Girls' School from Heck trilogy in EXC #32-34) Issue #20 cannot take place between Inferno and the Cross time Caper because Lockheed appears on panel in EXC #20, but between Inferno and Cross-Time Caper he is critically injured by the extra dimensional Nazi Excalibur team. Also, Courtney Ross appears as herself in EXC #20, but by the time Excalibur returns and Kitty rejoins them, Courtney had been replaced by a malevolent doppelganger, Sat-Yr-9. So essentially the best way to make it all work out is to place both 20 and 26 after issue #3. Okay so this is a pretty insignificant continuity blunder, but I actually noticed it. I will admit that there are probably a lot worst blunders that completely escaped my attention.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: yes, but sparingly
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: No. It is more important to keep characters the same as they originally appeared, the plot should be flexible. (Rogue should be able to fly, and be super strong though)
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Well I haven't read anything from 1999 to present, but if I were in charge I would cut back on having so many different dimensions and timelines all running into each other. I liked Alan Moore's parallel dimensions, and I liked the Days of Future Past, and the stories that go along with. Age of Apocalypse was a pretty creative and innovative idea as well. But it kind of went too far. I don't like Exiles, I don't like Mutant X, I don't like all of the crap that came over to the Marvel Uni. from the AOA, and the ret con behind all of that. (Making Dark Beast the creator of the Morlocks) Also I would have more villains getting eliminated. Some people just need to die.

What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: I like the fact that somebody figured out the order you can read all of this stuff in so it's the most chronological and entertaining. What I would like to see is personal critques of various issues, because I would definitely respect the maker of this site's opinions.
Favorite characters: Polaris, Storm, Havok, Wolverine, Iceman, Feral, Rogue, Phoenix (Rachel), Sunspot, Magneto, Quicksilver

How important is accurate continuity?: essential
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Ignore them.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: No
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: Yes
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Get an African actress to play Storm in the X-Men movies, a Southern American actress to play Rogue, and a short, hairy Canadian to play Wolverine.

How important is accurate continuity?: since the marvel universe became so integrated and there are often crossover characters in different titles, accurate continuity is pertinent to understanding the marvel universe dynamic
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: buildings are damaged/destroyed in an issue and yet appear in pristene condition a few issues later. must be some really dedicated construction workers.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: not unless tactfully done (good example... Blink in Exiles title)
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: oh god no! the colors, the effects, waay to overpowering in a real-life adaptation
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: bring back GenX and then incorporate my marvel image into one of the titles.

General Comments and Greetings: Great work. I'm blown away at how much you've included. I had to sell my collection in college at a huge loss and this site has really helped me figure out which ones to buy back and in what order I wanted to put them on my shelves.
Your birth year: 1976
Where are you from: Cleveland originally, now central NC
Your Web Site url: http://www.alexanderwilson.com
Do you publish Fan Fiction or issue indexes on the www?: no, though I do write.
How you found me: Don't remember.
What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: I just admire the work you put in. It's an incredibly useful resource. What would I like to see? Just the later stuff, really, post-1997. I've probably added only a couple dozen to my own list that you didn't include (probably by choice). Other Power Pack/Inferno crossover issues, and the other Dazzler issues are the only ones that come to mind. That and The Hidden Years and Origins which I believe came out after your last update.
Favorite characters: From all comics: Groo. From the X-Titles: Kitty Pryde, both Phoenixes, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Jubilee, Storm, Mystique, Forge, Magneto.
Favorite creators and/or titles: Uncanny X-Men and Excalibur. I couldn't get enough of Jim Lee on Uncanny X-Men but not on the "new" X-Men series. Maybe it was the stories. Non-X-Titles: Mayazaki (Nausicaa; now he's mainly a director) and Sergio, creator of Groo.
Favorite stories or plots: I loved UXM 230-265, from Australia to the Reavers to the whole starting-over amnesia stuff (haven't read it in years, but I just bought the issues a few days ago). I also loved Kitty Pryde & Wolverine miniseries and the Excalibur "The Sword is Drawn" book. And the Dark Pheonix Saga. The Captain America/Black Widow/Wolverine issue is one that still sticks in my mind, along with the Reavers' attack on Muir Isle w/ the death of Destiny. And then there are the backup stories from Classic X-Men. I liked the Days of Future Past storyline when it first appeared in UXM (141?) but thought they kind of overused the alternative futures 150 issues later.
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): D.
How important is accurate continuity?: It matters where story arcs are concerned, but if there's no story depending on the continuity, it doesn't matter so much other than ballpark estimates.
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Mostly "age" and time-passage stuff. Like how old Kitty Pryde and Jubilee are and such. Are the original X-Men still teens? Sometimes I think they are.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Sometimes.
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: They should be true to the characters, but not necessarily to continuity. I think they succeeded in more than a few ways.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Streamline the process. I stopped reading Spider-Man when they launched a fifth book called just "Spider-Man" and couldn't afford to keep up. And then the same thing happened to my X-Men interest when they launched a second X-Men title (on top of X-Force, X-Factor, Excalibur, UXM, and Wolverine). It's just too much for a guy to handle, especially since the price of comics have risen so much since then. Since I stopped reading there's been even more stuff. Generation X? X-Man? WTF? How can you keep up month-by-month?

I liked the Uncanny run post-Phoenix to Australia, and the mid-90's Excalibur.
How important is accurate continuity?: I wish! But it never happens :-(
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: The New Mutants limited series (or anything else written by Ben Raab). Nice premise, but Sooooo many continuity goofs I can't list them all. Solution: make it an Elseworlds and ignore it completely. Then bring back Illyana. Kitty Pryde's age.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: It depends on whether or not I like them!
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: No, why bother? It's a movie, after all.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Actually have the writers/editors sit down and read the titles. Yes, read 30 years of X-Men before writing it regularly (not much you can do with fill in writers, I suppose.) Maybe we'd have fewer continuity goofs and characters who are at least somewhat consistent.

Do you publish Fan Fiction or issue indexes on the www?: i'm working on very comprehnsive bios
How you found me: surfing the net
What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: very informative sight on the greates comics in the world. it's well put together. only complaint is there is very little information on my favorite x-book, Excalibur. but then, i'm the only one, huh?
Favorite characters: Pete Wisdom, Shadowcat, NightCrawler, Rachel Summers, Gambit, Sabretooth, Deadpool, Siryn, Jubilee, Synch, Banshee, Beast, i'm running out of room arent i?
Favorite creators and/or titles: John Romita Jr. is cool.
Favorite stories or plots: Age of Apocalypse was probably my favorite. seeing how Cecila Reyes would find her place in a world that fears an hates her was pretty cool, too, but cut to short. and the current storyline in Uncanny, with the X-Corps is the coolest thing tehy've done in the X-Books in quite a while
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): Uncanny 250-280 was aout the coolest run. the mid 90's were cool too.
How important is accurate continuity?: depends on the story
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: it's not a continuity problem that is my worst gripe with the x-books. it's the years that they built up the storyline involving the Twelve, only to butcher it into something that wasnt worth the time it took me to read it.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: absolutly not. bothers the heck outta me. 'specally cyclops. i wish he had stayed dead.
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: no, it should have creative license.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: start by killing off the characters that have been done to death, and start raising the bar for characters who have yet untapped potential. Risque (whom they killed without so much as telling the story behin it), Moonstar, Siryn, Nothstar, Paulie, Husk, Jubilee, Synch (another killed off needlessly), Yukio, Skids, etc.

Favorite stories or plots: X-Men, The Age of Apocalypse. The Earth X maxi-series

How important is accurate continuity?: Very important
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: More than continuity blunders, what has bothered me most is that different writers have different visions for the characters, and change their whole personalities. I really don't know the best way to compensate for that.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Depends...
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: Kinda late for this, but more so than it was!
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Bring back Kitty, add some Gay/Lesbian/bisexual characters, and stop emphasizing drawing/artwork over stories. And bring back some light in the artwork. The few new issues I've looked at look like the were drawn, and then scanned in with the setting set at extra dark.

What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: The fact that it exists was great for me- After the X-movie I re-read my comics, mostly from early nineties. The site helped me branch out and get plotlines to stuff I don't own. Now I understand a whole lot more than I did before. Besides, I needed to kill a lot of time at work.
Favorite characters: Magneto, Wolverine/Sabretooth Hellfire Club (Gotta love the Queens) Apocalypse; In theory he kicks ass, but there are always loopholes written in to his plotlines Havoc, Sunspot, Sunfire Cable used to be cool
Favorite creators and/or titles: Early Wolverine, Excaliber (what I saw was usually good) Sticking to Marvel: XMII,UXM Other companies made some really cool stuff (Vertigo, etc)
Favorite stories or plots: Usually stuff with thought required- Unless it's a knockdown dragout issue. Big Crunch was cool, LegionQuest/AOA was reasonably cool, Days of Future were good
Looking at the X-titles or MU as a whole, when did you enjoy them the most: a) 1963-74; b) 1975-82; c) 1983-86; d) 1987-90; e) 1991-94; f) 1995-97; g) 1998-pre (you may pick multiple groups): e d c (I stopped reading around 1994, when the prices went up)
How important is accurate continuity?: very- Why bother having a continuous storyline w/o it?
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: I don't see why it's so hard to preven them all; Obviously there are people who read every X-title and find errors. Can't Marvel/others hire one or two of those people?
Should dead characters be resurrected?: That depends- There has to be a reason. I'm a big Duncan Idaho fan....
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: To a degree- As long as the movies are self-consistent (and made well) it's hard to complain.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: Probably axe a few titles. I think more trades should be put out for people like me. I'm willing to buy stuff, but I'm not gonna dig through a box of ten yr old crap to spend $20 on one title. Not being a collector, I want to just read and enjoy. I really like the trades put out for Sandman and others.

What do you like about this site and what else would you like to see?: I can't think of anything, I did'nt like about your site. You have done an incredable job. I would like to see some of the Marvel cross-over's put into continuity. For example Star Trek/X-Men,All Access,Unlimited Access,X-Men/New Teen Titians, and the pocket books from Marvel and Byron Press.
Favorite characters: Nightcrawler,Magneto,Ice Man,and Dr. Reyes.
Favorite creators and/or titles: My favorite writer's are Chris Claremont and Joe Kelly. My favorite artist's are Adam Kubert,Carlos Pacheco, John Byrne, and Joe Madureira. My favorite titles will always be Uncanny X-Men and X-Men.
Favorite stories or plots: The best ever was the "Mutant Massacre" and Age of Apocalypse.

How important is accurate continuity?: It's the most important thing.
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: I'm still pretty upset that Marvel dosn't really count the Marvel U.k and Malibu Comics in it's continuity. Those stories were printed, so lets fit them in.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: never
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: As close as possible.
If I controlled Marvel then I would...: I would make a writer and artist do a complete 12 issues on a book, no fill-ins. Then the next writer and artist would do that years annual and then they would do a 12 issue run, and the cycle would keep on continuing. I would also have them use more of the Marvel Universe in their stories, it's a big place with lots of of villians and hero's.

Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: Jubilee suddenly jumping from 15 from when she was first introduced, to 13 and a half. It's been hinted at the radiation in the Reaver's treasure trove being the true culprit behind her decrease in age, however the best way to fix this is to simply have her encounter something that places her at her proper age again. I picture Jubilee being more around sixteen or seventeen years of age than I do thirteen or fourteen.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Only Cyclops. And then Jean Grey should be killed off for good. Heh.
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: Bah

How important is accurate continuity?: Very. Comics are about collectors
Worst continuity blunders you know of, and the best way to compensate for them?: DC in general. Also, there's a major continuity flaw in the 'Bloodties' storyline concerning where the characters are at cetain points that always annoys me. I choose to ignore them.
Should dead characters be resurrected?: Only if plausable and not Bucky.
Should the live X-movie be true to the original books?: Yes within reason.
