Synopsis:	Emma gives the team new uniforms and says they have to act like a
school because of Pickwick, the state inspector. They have to stop calling Sean
and Emma by their first names, and Monet fixes the paperwork, explaining she was
born in Sarajevo while her parents were skiing (!), and she has three passports.
Sean adjourns to the gym.
Monet accuses Emma of being a hypocrite and hiding her villainous side; Jubes
defends her, saying she has changed. Angelo squabbles with dour Jono. Ev asks
Sean how to start dating Gaia, but he doesnıt understand women, either.
Pickwick is so disgusted with the schoolıs record keeping that she has a
heart attack. Emma keeps her mind alive while they race her to the hospital; Jono
blasts a hole through an overturned tractor trailer blocking the road; they skid
off at the next turn, anyway, and Penance has to clear the underbrush. Monet
flies up to guide them, and Ev synchs with Gaia to use TK and get them across a
gorge.
Pickwick, through Emma, has witnessed all this. When she recovers, she
returns to the school and gives them the highest possible recommendation.

Synopsis:	At Halloween, Dracula gather enthralled townspeople in an abandoned
church in Snow Valley. He calls Jono in the night, offering him anything he
wants: Paige, eyes glowing, tries to kiss Jono, and is destroyed. He wakes from
the nightmare. Jubes, up for a late night snack, hears a scream and sees Jono
acting scary. Next morning, she tries to talk to the other kids about him, but he
tells her to mind her business.
Paige is returning from a visit to her mother in Kentucky and her brother.
Jono, on the train with her, shows that his face is restored. Then he bares his
fangs. She wakes from the nightmare.
Jono goes to the movies with Angelo, Ev, and Sean to see Nosferatu. Jono
excuses himself to the menıs room, which he shouldnıt need to use, and then
trick-or-treaters find the ticket taker dead and decapitated in his booth. Then
he, undead, walks toward the lav. He attacks Jono, pulls off his scarf, and gets
killed.
The trick-or-treaters ring the schoolıs bell, and Jubes says, ³come in,² as
she gives them candy. That lets Dracula enter, and when he tries to mesmerize
her, she throws fireworks. Dracula goes to Paige, who husks and runs.
Driving back home, Jono doesnıt want to talk about what happened. He senses
Paige is in trouble, and he rushes into the school, and Jubes, hiding under the
table, is relieved.
Jono explains heıs been having dreams of Dracula, and they all go to the
church. Paige is captive there and frantically husking, but even silver doesnıt
deter the vampire. The team breaks in and pushes back the thralls. Dracula offers
Jono his face, and he accepts and offers his neck. Paige remembers the legends
and husks to wood, but she misses the heart, and Dracula puts her down.
Jono, horrified, pulls the curtain from the window and lets in the sunlight.
The church collapses, and everyone hopes it was just an illusion. Jono still has
bite marks, however.

unknown origin. Forge explains the biosphere had been part of Krakoa, which is
reassembling itself (see iss. 44, Giant-Sized X-Men 1).
Artie and Leech have a new room in the dusty attic, and Emma wants to start a
special ed program for them, to make them more a part of the team.

Gaia tries to play basketball and, frustrated, uses her power to morph the
hoop. That reprograms the computer, which attacks Forge for making it into a
backboard: he is Paradox, a sentient being. The team keeps it busy while Forge

Jono and flies but gets stopped by a thrown net. Jono gets splattered with tar,
while Maggot asks Angelo to remove the darts from the slugs.
Slaughter takes the slugs as trophies and leaves the boys hog-tied. Ev synchs

The kids take the plane without Emma, whom they donıt trust since sheıs
friends with Dark Beast. Paige and Jubes let themselves get caught and are
brought to Sean. Getting out is harder, though, especially when Brawn activates
his energy armor and punches Paige skyward. The other kids arrive but have less

sneak off, and Emma canıt trace them because of Leechıs power.
She orders Jono and Paige to settle their differences and help search. Jono
accuses Paige of changing: sheıs no longer a bookworm, she wears makeup and
flashy clothes, and she has Tristan for a boyfriend. She complains about his date
at the formal, Corrine.

hot dog and asks for her autograph. Since he doesnıt have a pen, she kisses him,

manipulate him (New Mutants 38), but he sees sheıs a different person now.

him. They impersonate boys from a band and get girl fans to stampede. Then they
enter Avengers Mansion as Thor and Cap, but Jarvis is nobodyıs fool and has the
defenses nab them. When they call Emma, Firestar confronts her. Emma apologizes
for ruining her childhood (see Firestar ı86 LS), and for mocking her idealism.
Firestar says if Xavier trusts her, sheıs okay, but if she hurts the kids, sheıs
bringing the Avengers to stop her.
En route home, they see Evıs hero, the Black Panther, leaping across the
