Synopsis:	The XSE has come back in time 70 years to our day, to capture
escaped convicts. Randall and Malcolm cover Bishop and get killed (Uncanny X-Men
287).
Bishop has been rerunning this scenario in the Danger Room, and Storm is
concerned, and Xavier interrupts and orders Bishop to go out on the town with
her, offering to get them theater tickets (a new mutant power?). Bishop hands
Forge a broken holographic projector that contains the form of his sister Shard.
Bantam needs to find Bishop, to protect him from Mountjoy now that Fitzroy is
gone (Uncanny X-Men 302). In Central Park thugs attack, and while Bantam gets
away, Mountjoy kills all but one, whom he uses as a host.
Bantam calls the mansion but gets Jubilee, who tells him Bishop is at the
theater, and Bantam catches up to him outside Cats. He explains that Mountjoy had
ridden inside him to this time, while the villain attacks and absorbs Storm. He
uses her lightning to attack Bishop, who just redirects it. So Mountjoy shoots
him with poisoned crossbow bolts. He threatens to beat him to death if he doesnıt
release Storm, so he does, and when he tries to slit Bishopıs throat Storm zaps
him, and he runs.

all dead and Jean recording her message (Uncanny X-Men 287) and then getting shot
by Bishop, who turns on himself.
Bishop wakes from the nightmare; he is in the medical bay with his sisterıs
hologram, which Forge has made totally interactive. She is not impressed with
Xavierıs dream, since it got all the X-Men killed, and she says Bishop should
have killed Mountjoy even though he was in Stormıs body (last iss.).
Bishop goes after Mountjoy, resigning from the X-Men so thereıs no conflict.
Xavier lets him make his own decisions.
Mountjoy feeds on a young woman and plans to attack Bishop preemptively.
Bishop rides a motorcycle to a police station in the city and pretends to
arrest Shard. He wants information on Mountjoyıs ³ride² (last iss.), but the cops
just thought he was crazy and sent him home. Bishop gets the address, and Shard
disappears.
Mountjoy was already there, in a policeman, and he attacks Bishop, but the
cops help him beat him off. Motorcycle chases car and crashes: boom! Bishop,
disoriented, wakes in his own time.

for energy. Bishop grabs high voltage lines to charge up and chases him, only to
be knocked off a building.
Things fade, and heıs a boy in the future, with Hancock, who lose his
eyesight in the Summers Rebellion, when mutants and men worked together to
overthrow the Sentinels. Mountjoy attacks, although Bishop hadnıt met him yet,
and he runs, no longer able to tell past from future.
Punks beat him up until the cops rescue him, just as the XSE had/will rescue
him from Halftrak and Billiboy, which is why he joined that team, taking Shard
with him.
Mountjoy attacks with many arrows, killing a cop and absorbing the punks
until Bishop wallops him, but he is no longer willing to kill in the line of
duty.
Shard yells at him, since he keeps refusing promotions, wanting to stay on
the street.
Bishop chases Mountjoy into a subway tunnel and gets ambushed. Mountjoy rides

to eat the X-Men, and Iım only a hologram.² Bishop puts her into the mansionıs
security system.
Mountjoy absorbs Archangel next, making a strange-looking composite. Shard
distracts him; he doesnıt realize sheıs not real and chases her into the Danger
Room, which has been made into the XSE future. Bishop demands he release the
X-Men, but he fights, instead. Shard catches hold of him and tells Bishop to
blast them both; he does, and the X-Men are freed. Shard insists he execute

Shard show holograms and talk about their future past.
Bishop shows the final battle of the Summers Rebellion (including the death
of Cyclops). Then the mutant prison camp where they were raised, the day the XSE
came after Virago, who tries to use young Shard as a human shield. Bishop
intervenes, and Sureshot kills Virago. That is when he realized he wanted to join
the XSE.
In the present, Bishop asks Shard to join the X-Men, but she refuses to
follow his footsteps. He shows their grandmother (evidently Storm) telling them
tales of the X-Men. On her deathbed, Bishop promised to protect Shard. He feels
guilty about her later death.
Shard reminds him that he saved her from thugs and got her accepted to the
XSE academy with him.
In the Summers Rebellion, humans and mutants overthrew the Sentinels, but
mutants remained outcasts. Mutant terrorists (Exhumes) spurred the formation of
the XSE, mutants policing mutants, using the M tattoo now as a badge.
Cowardly classmate Fitzroy and Hecatıe each give them a hard time, but they
persevere. On a class trip, they are attacked by Emplates, who kill Trace and
Sureshot.

Synopsis:	Children around a campfire; someone tells them a story of a hero on
the mean streets where he grew up: Bishop, who ignored his sister Shardıs orders
so he could apprehend some punks. He found Fitzroy, who escaped him through a
portal, and the ceiling collapsed on him.
Bishop wakes from his nightmare, back in the mansion after his captivity in
space (Uncanny X-Men 342-372). Storm is unable to convince him to stay (cf. X-Men
II:92); he gives her his X-medallion till he returns and goes to finish things
with Fitzroy (cf. Uncanny X-Men 282).
His sister, deceased (XSE 4) and brought back as a photon-based life form
(Uncanny X-Men ı96 Ann.), had been in X-Factor (till X-Factor 141), and he
follows her instructions and finds her unconscious in a tenement. She tried and
failed to stop Fitzroy, and the next room is full of his victimsı corpses.
A portal opens; Chronotroopers attack, ignoring Shard. Bishop drops through
the rotting floor, finds an electrical box, and blasts. He saves the boy Michael
from the falling ceiling, but then the building collapses.
Shard watches helplessly as Bishop is removed from this timeline; he wakes in
a desert just as mutant bandits rob a regentıs carriage. He tries to defend
himself but falls unconscious, and the carriage gets away. The bandits take
Bishop with them, because they also have the mark of the M, but theirs are
painted on.
Fitzroy is the Chronomancer, with a castle, Chronokeep, and Chronotroopers as
guards, whom he commands to suicide when he realizes Bishop has survived.

the heat of his flames and blasts him; Scorch is convinced but now angry that

huge machine, which lifts him high in the air, where something swoops down and
nabs him.

tale:
Wolverine and Storm run through the California Redwoods to Sentinel GOL-19,
which has been reprogrammed by Forge. They had been fighting Sentinels a long
time, and Magneto is about to unleash an E-M pulse. Storm gives the Sentinel
their secrets and her tiara as a key. Sentinels attack, and GOL-19 fights his own
to protect the mutants, but Wolverine sent him off to the Hellfire Club, where
Gambit has gone.
The last of the X-Men died there, and now Bishop finds the imprint of the
tiara on a rock, and beneath it a Cerebro unit. He and Link use it to find
Fitzroy.

help, if they ally with him against Fitzroy. Nom goes back to Tull, who tells him
of Azeroch, who led the mighty giants and would return when they needed him. The
