Northstar is awake and battling bigotry (iss. 6). He says he had been trying to fly past the earth's atmosphere, apparently a suicide attempt. Mac gives the team Dept. Mac flies after Logan and attacks him. Heather sends Murmur and Sasquatch to see who Logan had chained up in a potato sack (Sauron, see Uncanny X-Men 355). The rest help Mac. X-Men arrive and help Logan. They fight; Murmur tries to mind-control Maggott and gets wicked backlash. Sam and Flex talk and realize Logan was in jail when Jeffries was supposedly killed. The Flight realizes Clarke lied and plans to have words with him. Lilli wants to go back to Hull House; Clarke has her sedated. Sunfire wants to go back to Japan. Heather rejects this explanation and says they'll let him know if and when they'll go on another mission. Clarke makes a phone call to take care of this situation. Puck accosts Radius, telling him to become a team player, or else. Flex's Internet search (iss. 7) has revealed that Jared's father was Unus the Untouchable. Heather packs to leave; Puck shows her an e-mail warning, which asks them to meet in the Prometheus Division. They find Myra there, warning that Clarke is abusing her technological acquisitions. She offers to conceal the team, which just then runs in, pursued by guards. Myra uses the Prometheus Pit to shrink them and send them into the Microverse. Clarke congratulates her on containing them. Taurus finds Virgo in Paris, with the people she has killed, and ports her back to the Zodiac. The team finds themselves in Antica, a tiny world populated by intelligent insects, but by humans under Zebek. They are served a feast by insects and see insect gladiators, and realize this is a tyranny. Mac finds scientists building a quark-bomb. Manbot is attacked; the team runs to his aid, but runs in circles, and then runs into The Micronauts. Diamond Lil is being experimented on in the Beta Flight wing; so is Lilli. Disguised, Alpha Flight and the Micronauts get into the body tanks, free Manbot, inspire a prison riot, and attack Zebek in his palace. Mac uses an E-M pulse to break Zebek's body parts apart, and Gasha refuses to explode the quarkarion bomb, instead planning to take Zebek to the body tanks and turn him into a draught horse. Sasquatch savagely attacks the Zodiac, while Scorpio finds what he was after: a huge steel cube in Haddock's lab. Northstar returns to his sister's school; it has burned down, and Aurora is inside, mad, pretending to be a teacher. Chaos reigns in Dept. H, and the Flight fails to have a plan, and the Zodiac ports around, striking at will. Manbot takes Flex to the 13th floor, where he can monitor the entire building. Radius and Sasquatch are cornered by the Ooze, a huge biological mass the Zodiac found in a lab. Sasquatch saves Radius by lifting him up, allowing the Ooze to eat his flesh to the bone. Mac and Puck trap half the Zodiac in their training room and learn that Gemini is Jeffries; they then port away. Radius and Sunfire destroy the Ooze. Heather follow Clarke, who says Zodiac has sabotaged the nuclear reactor. He tries to stop it but is killed by the radiation. Manbot realizes the Zodiac's purpose: to steal the Nth Projector (Marvel 2-in-1 58) and cause a rift in space. Heather's suit nearly overloads absorbing all the reactor's radiation, but she is able to prevent it exploding. The Flight rushes to her side, allowing the Zodiac to escape. The Flight worries about Murmur and plans to destroy Clarke's mind-altering machinery and to attend Sasquatch's funeral. Sunfire is fed up with Dept. H and takes off. A nun finds Northstar in his sister's classroom, alone. He may have hallucinated Aurora (last iss.). Beta 3 is arrested for treason; Kilgrew is worried about being discovered. Then she, he, and Puck give eulogies, reminiscing about Walter in front of the real sasquatch's giant coffin. Puck makes Radius take the podium, and he raves for a while, then stalks off, guilty over Sasquatch's death. At Dept. H, Gentry is Gen. Clarke's replacement, and he cleans house. He reprimands the staff, reassigns the guards, moves the captive trainees into the Alpha wing, cancels the Helios project since Sunfire has fled, and orders openness and accountability all around. Director X questions his methods, lets him know that Walter is alive, and admits to mind-wiping the team. How much to tell the team, he leaves up to Gentry, who stops by the funeral and calls a meeting for the morning. A new day for the Flight. Off the coast of Greenland, a reporter looking for a "Titanic" story is aboard an icebreaker, which is accosted by a ship bearing the Brass Bishop (last seen vol. I:121). Issue: Alpha Flight II:15 Date: Oct-98 Story: Congregation (22 pages) Feature Characters: Guardian, Vindicator II, Puck, Flex, Radius, Murmur, Manbot Regular Characters: Gentry, his assistant Hames Guest Stars: Walter Langoski, Shaman, Northstar, Aurora, Diamond Lil Villains: Dr. Huxley, the Brass Bishop; Gen. Only one is still alive, and to avoid capture, he blows everyone up with dynamite. At Dept. H, Gentry says the Navigator has shown up as a ghost ship in Newfoundland, and since then communication with the town of White Cross has been cut off. It happens to be that his sister, the Prime Minister's wife, was there, and the Flight is sent in ("for province and planet"). Gentry voices misgivings about Mac's leadership, and Mac feels he has no support. Walt finds Michael near Anchorage; Jean-Paul finds Jean-Marie at magnetic north. His powers disappear; then she does, stranding him. Huxley argues with Gentry about moving the Betas out of their cells. Manbot tells Heather that his programming has changed, so he can reveal much about Dept. H to her. Puck and Flex find the Navigator, with her captain tied to her prow. Radius finds the townspeople in church, transformed into zombies (must be Anglican). One little girl is unaffected and leads them to a tower. But she is a zombie too, and nearly crashes their jet into a tower in the tundra. Puck forces himself to remember it: the Tower of Babel (referring to the Biblical one, which Mac thinks was built by Moses's descendants. Must be Anglican.) This one was built by the Brass Bishop.
