X-Day 2003 - http://www.xday.info/

Welcome to the website for the X-Day 2003 creative arts competition! The competition is now finished for this year, and all results have been posted. If you are not a 2003 participant and wish to be contacted later regarding the 2004 X-Day, then please inform the X-Day Manager.

What is X-Day? X-Day is a day of celebration for all fans of the Marvel X-Books, started in 1996. Usually celebrated on September 23rd, X-Day commemorates the anniversary of the publishing of the first X-Book, The X-Men. During X-Day, X-Fans show appreciation for Marvel comics by finding creative ways to demonstrate their enjoyment of the X-Books to the general public. Submissions of comic inspired art, fiction and web-sites are accepted and compete for prizes.

This year, X-Day is being run by Darren Duncan, who had previously shared the responsibility with Shannon Pipik in 2002, and assisted her in 2001 and 2000. Shannon is still involved this year, providing the X-Day logo graphic, feedback, some editing, and visual design help to pretty the site up.

X-Day 2003 is being held later in the year than it has been in the past. The Submissions Period began late on October 28th, and closed at 23:59 of November 30th, PST/GMT-8. The Rating/Voting Period began late on November 18th, and closed at 23:59 of December 21st. A survey screen to improve X-Day for 2004 was opened on 2003 December 8th, and closed on November 29th. Partial voting results were posted on 2003 December 31st, and the final voting results were posted on 2004 January 10th.

The details and rules for X-Day 2003 have a lot in common with previous years, but there were significant changes. These changes are designed to make the competition a lot more improved and 'fair' than previous years, which also means more 'fun'. You should read through the Details and Rules pages first, so that you know how things work this year. Also, keep a watch on this page and the Recent Site Changes page for the latest developments, as any further changes to the site will now be mentioned here, and it may be getting updated daily.

The first step to participate in X-Day is to create your X-Day account. It only takes a minute. Afterwards, you Log In to your new account in order to either submit entries or rate/vote; without an account, you may only view the site.

You can help make X-Day great, by letting people know about the X-Day competition. The more people who know about X-Day and compete in or help out with the event, the more fun X-Day will be for everyone. Please let your friends, relatives and anyone else who might be interested in X-Day know about the competition.

If you support the X-Day cause, please show it by placing this image and a link back to this site on your web page.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any suggestions for improving X-Day, or if you want to help out.

Thank you for your participation.

This site has been designed to be fully useable on any web browser; you should be able to navigate to all site pages, use all input forms, and read all of the site text, including all Fan Fiction. However, this site is graphics-oriented and will look better in a relatively new web browser that supports images and cascading style sheets; obviously, you also will need graphics support to view the Fan Art. The site should be fast even to dial-up modem users.
