Welcome to the website for the X-Day 2002 competition!

X-DAY 2002 VOTING HAS ENDED!

353 ballots were retained and counted to determine the winners of the popular vote (your votes) in each subcategory (and 37 invalid ballots were discarded). The voting period was between October 11th and 19th (UTC) of 2002, inclusive. The top entries for each subcategory as determined by the popular vote were sent to the X-Day judges so they could vote for their own top entries among them. 12 unique judges have returned their answers, 11 in Fan Art, 7 in Fan Fiction, 11 in Fan Websites. We have lots of statistics. The results of both the popular vote and the judge vote have been posted on the See the Winners page. Besides the distribution of any prizes to winners, which Shannon will do soley on her own discression, X-Day 2002 is now over. Thank you for participating. If you have any concerns you can email Darren at darren@xday.info or Shannon at pipiks@xday.info (or pipik@mtu.edu).

What is X-Day? X-Day is a day of celebration for all fans of the Marvel X-Books. Celebrated on September 23rd, X-Day commemorates the anniversary of the publishing of the first X-Book, The X-Men. During X-Day, X-Fans show appreciation for Marvel comics by finding creative ways to demonstrate their enjoyment of the X-Books to the general public. Submissions of comic inspired art, fiction and web-sites are accepted and compete for prizes. X-Day was started in 1996 by X-Fan Josh Wheeler. To learn more about the history of the X-Day Celebration, visit the X-Day History Page.

As usual, this year's X-Day Submissions will be accepted beginning August 16th - one month before the start of the X-Day Celebrations. If you want to enter your X-Related Art, Fiction or Website in the 2002 X-Day Competition, you need to read the X-Day Rules and then submit your work. Any problems with the submission form or questions about the competition itself can be directed to shannon at pipik@mtu.edu.

Like last year, there will be three major submission categories, each with several subcategories. For a listing of the categories and subcategories, please READ HERE. Each person may submit up to three works in each subcategory. If you are interested in submitting some form of appreciation for the contest, you should visit the Rules of Competition page. Then you can use the Submission Form to notify the X-Day Managers. Please note that THE RULES MAY HAVE CHANGED! and it is your responsibility to read and understand them.

You can help make X-Day great, by letting people know about the X-Day competition. The more people who know about X-Day and compete in or help out with the event, the more fun X-Day will be for everyone. Please let your friends, relatives and anyone else who might be interested in X-Day know about the competition.

If you support the X-Day cause, please show it by placing this image and a link back to this site on your web page. For more information on the X-Day event, or to request further information on the X-Day celebration, please mail pipik@mtu.edu. Shannon will get back to you as soon as she can.
