Synopsis:	Every seven years, the Tithe Collector comes. The Assassinsı Guild
declares war on the Thievesı Guild, to get ³the life² as well as ³the power.²
	Remy and Rogue work out in the Danger Room, but their relationship is the
real danger. Remy catches his brother Henri sneaking into the mansion; Remy has
to go back for the tithing. Henri tells him about the war, and that his
brother-in-law Julien isnıt dead (Candra resurrected him, see iss. 3).
	An arrow comes through the window; the Assassins have killed Henri. Remy goes
off alone to handle it and finds Julien. Remy easily defeats him, he throws
himself on a sword but says heıs not dying, and Remyıs wife Bella Donna is alive,
and teleports away with his henchmen.
	Rogue insists on going with Remy to New Orleans.

Synopsis:	Remy goes to the Boudreaux house and finds Bella Donna, in a coma
but alive (thought dead since X-Men II:9). The Assassins attack him; his
father-in-law Marius challenges him to a duel and bests him; Marius orders his
men to attack, but Rogue breaks it up. Marius lets Remy take Belle Donna, so he
can give her the Elixir of Life.
	Julien, now an ³abomination² without honor, kills his way to his father and
attacks him. He plans to rule a new Assassinsı Guild with his sister.
	The tithe takes place: the Thievesı Guild trades tribute for the Elixir. Remy
bursts in and demands some, but it is forbidden to give it to an outsider.
	Pierre and Julien ally and attack the Tithe Collector, but he gets away. The
ancient pact with Candra is broken.
	Remy tells how he was an orphan, stole Jean-Lucıs wallet, and was adopted.

Synopsis:	Remy goes to Candraıs club in Paris and is quickly shown the door by
the guards. They pull guns; he explodes things. That gets Candraıs attention: she
sends the Tithe Collector to collect him.
	When he meets Candra he realizes he hasŠ hmmŠ met her before. She set up the
guilds centuries ago, but is finished with them. She has Jean-Luc and says if
Remy kills him, he can have the elixir, but he blows up at the suggestion.
	Remy has left Bella Donna in Louisiana with Rogue and the healer Tante Matte.
Rogue is tempted to steal Bella Donnaıs memories but stops herself; Bella Donna
grabs her hand; she sees her life with Remy.
	Julien arrives and attacks Candra and the Tithe Collector; Remy defends her,
and she sends Julien sailing out a window. Candra lets Remy go, since he
protected her; he has stolen the last vial of elixir. She sends the Tithe
Collector to have him killed.

Synopsis:	Julien goes to a church to meet Pierre; Remy follows. Each has one
of the 3 vials of elixir; Remy takes all, but Julien says he is addicted to the
elixir and near death.
	Jean-Luc says this happens sometimes, and the guild lets them die. The Tithe
Collector has got both guilds to attack Remy.
	Bella Donna is having fits since touching Rogue, who is transfixed by the
memory of kissing Remy. Remy fights through the guilds to her; he finds the Tithe
Collector already has them and threatens to kill them. Remy charges his coat and
pushes him out a window, then mixes the elixir. Julien bursts in, tries to get
it, and spills it. Remy nearly kills him; Marius shows up and shoots him dead
with arrows.
	Candra shows up and says the Assassins can renew the pact if they kill Remy.
Marius refuses, tired of her manipulation, and she leaves.
	Jean-Luc tells him to leave and never come back. Before he does, he gathers a
few drops of the spilled elixir and administers them to Bella Donna. She revives,
but has no memories.
	Remy suicidally propositions Rogue; she flies off. Remy walks the streets of
New Orleans alone.

Synopsis:	Rogue plays tag with two jets, then flies down to Harryıs Hideaway,
where she is accosted by two drunks, whom Remy scares off.
	Cody has been in a coma ever since Rogue kissed him, when her powers first
manifested. She visits him, in a sanatorium in Mississippi, and Remy follows.
	Candra attends Marius Boudreauxıs funeral and suggests to Bella Donna, new
leader of the Assassins, that they ally against Remy and Rogue.
	Fifolet and the Assassins attack Rogue when she arrives. Bella Donna has
taken Cody as revenge for Rogue taking her memories when she was in a coma
(Gambit I:3). She plans to attack Remy, too.

Synopsis:	Bella Donna wants Tante Mattie to take care of Cody, but she wonıt
obey. She allies with Candra to eliminate the Thievesı Guild.
	Rogue goes to save Cody; Tante Mattie comes to her in a vision and tells her
to save Remy first before Candraıs assassins get to him. He is attacked on the
road, and Rogue arrives in time to help him fight them off. Gris-Gris points at
Remy, then disappears.
	Rogue spends the night in Remyıs arms, camping in the woods, then flies off
to New Orleans to confront the Assassins. Remy follows.

Synopsis:	The Assassins attack Rogue in New Orleans with the powers they got
from Candra, and she beats them off and enters Candraıs mansion.
	Remyıs cousin Lapin warns him not to enter the city, but he ignores the
danger. Fifolet captures him.
	Gris-Gris uses voodoo powder on Rogue, and he and Fifolet attack her. She
easily throws them down. Questa, a shape-shifter, appears as Remy, Cody, and
Carol Danvers, but Rogue belts her.
	Candra takes away Rogue and Bella Donnaıs powers and lets them fight. Rogue
gets stabbed.

Synopsis:	Rogue bleeds for the first time in years but continues to fight
Bella Donna. She runs off, ironically not enjoying the absence of her powers, and
tries to stop the bleeding. Bella Donna chases her and cuts her glove. Rogue
tells her to stop blaming her for her problems and warns her that her powers are
starting to come back.
	Remy gets himself free, but Candra restrains him. Rogue has overcome Bella
Donna and insists Candra release Remy. She does, and then expels Cody through the
roof. Rogue still canıt fly; Candra offers to take her powers away forever, but
Rogue chooses to fight her instead. She throws off her TK-restraints, knocking
her out, and swoops up to catch Cody mid-air.
	Tante Mattie lets her speak to Codyıs mind; he remembers himself as a boy,
tells her he has no regrets, and dies.

Synopsis:	In three months in 1888, Jack the Ripper killed 6 women, and was
never caught. A hundred years later, a similar killer is on the loose.
	Remy works out in the Danger Room, then flies to London to investigate‹he
knew Davies. He breaks into the police files, then goes her family.
	He is nearly captured by the police, who think he may be the Ripper, but a
woman screams, and he runs off to find a bloodstained Logan. He has been feral
lately (since losing his adamantium, X-Men II:25), and he canıt explain how he
got there or if he killed the women.
	Arcade, from the shadows, laughs at them.

Synopsis:	Jason arrives with a small red car and a big gun to help Remy and
Logan escape the police. She says Nick Fury sent her. Logan slashes a
double-decker bus in Piccadilly, knocking it over, and Jason plunges them into
the Thames to effect their escape.
	Remy and Logan find themselves in a sewer, standing over Jasonıs corpse. Remy
accuses Logan, who says he canıt trust his senses. They plunge into the current,
but find themselves back where they started, and Jason is now alive. Logan
slashes her throat open: she is a robot.
	Arcade talks to the real Jason, who is Mastermindıs daughter and has taken
his name.

Synopsis:	Mastermind gives them illusions based on their memories:
	Davies had caught Remy stealing a painting that had originally been stolen by
the Nazis; she lets him get away, returns the favor by letting her catch Yukio,
who had set him up. He vows to catch Daviesı killer.
	Logan loved Mariko and sees himself married to her. He smells something and
goes to investigate. Remy attacks him, but Logan refuses to go back to the real
world and slashes him.

Synopsis:	Mastermind had agreed to help Arcade because he said Logan killed
his assistant Locke.
	Logan wakes Remy, who charges the robot and blows them out of their holding
cell. He has figured out it is Arcade, and they fight their way through Wolverine
robots to him. Mastermind disappears; Logan threatens to kill Arcade for messing
with his mind, but Remy convinces him to let him go.
	Mastermind stops him, angry at having been manipulated, and opens his mind to
the X-Men: he killed Locke, couldnıt accept that he did, so made up the
Logan-the-Ripper scenario as a cover. She disappears; Remy and Logan return to
the States; Andrews has Arcade committed.

Synopsis:	Bonavita, Tante Mattie, and Stoker see a falling star; each
commissions someone to retrieve it.
	Remy is stealing a stolen cross from a museum, when Tante Mattie appears to
him in a vision and interrupts. He gets away from the police, and Tante Mattie
says itıs Godıs will for him to help her.
	Remy is in a crowd that watches as a beautiful naked woman emerges onto Miami
Beach. He gives her his coat (and his heart); she doesnıt speak, and he rushes
off with her when gangsters attack. She disappears; he gets shot and drops into
the surf. He sees Tante Mattie, and the woman.

Synopsis:	Remy drowns; he imagines himself standing on his own grave and being
attacked by corpses. Marcelo and Katrina pull him out of the water and tend to
his wounds. Marcelo asks him where the fallen ³angel² is; he doesnıt answer, and
Marcelo is disgusted by his lack of faith.
	Katrina is of the Grigori, supposedly descended from fallen angels, and Tante
Mattie is of their order. Remy says the fallen one is Anielle, and Marcelo says
that is Hanael, the prince of the choir of virtues. He sees that Remy has slept
with Katrina and is outraged.
	Sibyl burst in with zombie lackeys; she claims to be a fallen angel. She has
Katrina and demands Anielle. Marcelo gets shot and killed in the ensuing fight;
Sibyl gets away; the zombies dissolve.
	Remy tracks Anielle; he can hear her song in his head; Sibyl follows. They
hide in a church, where Katrina has donned her nunıs robes; Stoker shows up.

Synopsis:	Stoker enters the church with his dog Cerberus and his deformed,
dwarfish companion Wormwood. Katrina tells Remy to get Anielle to Rome and sets
the church on fire. Remy and Anielle run out; Sibyl attacks; Remy blasts off her
bat wings and runs into the Everglades. Stoker attacks Katrina in the burning
church and tells her a third force, neither good nor evil, was assembling. He
tempts her to evil by offering her Marcelo; she says heıs lying.
	Remy uses the alias S. Templar to fly with Anielle to Paris, ³borrows² a
rental car to Bern, the takes the train to Rome. The spider-like ³luciferge²
swarms in their car; Remy goes up to the roof, where Sibyl and Cerberus are
waiting.

Synopsis:	Sibyl spits locusts at Remy and says she has switched the track so
the train will crash. He throws a card at the switch box, and the train goes back
on course.
	Cerberus and Sibyl overwhelm Remy; Anielle finally fights, saying ³I am the
light² and dispels Sibyl with light. She and Remy sneak into St. Peterıs, where
Stoker and his minions attack. He has turned Katrina into Black Kat, taking
Sibylıs place. He offers to trade her for Anielle; Remy is down to his last card
and hesitates. Anielle makes the decision: she disappears with Stoker. Bonavita
says she was probably an angel created for one task, which is now done. Katrina
is saved but no longer a nun; Wormwood rides off on Cerberus; Tante Mattie denies
all knowledge; Remy returns the stolen cross (iss. 1) to the Sistine chapel.
